Edge

Location from Final Fantasy VII by Square Enix

A new city built on the outskirts of Midgar's ruins after Meteorfall, where survivors struggle to rebuild civilization. Becomes the primary setting of Advent Children, haunted by Geostigma and Kadaj's remnants.

Edge represents humanity's resilience after Meteorfall — built from the literal wreckage of Midgar by its survivors. Cloud and Tifa run a delivery service (Strife Delivery Service) from their rebuilt Seventh Heaven here while caring for Marlene and Denzel, an orphan suffering from Geostigma. The city becomes ground zero for Kadaj, Loz, and Yazoo's campaign to find Jenova's remains and trigger Sephiroth's return. The Geostigma plague — caused by Jenova cells in the Lifestream — afflicts many residents, particularly children. Edge's struggle to build something new while the past literally poisons its people makes it a powerful symbol of the compilation's themes.

Appearance

A sprawling frontier city of prefabricated buildings and repurposed Midgar wreckage. Construction cranes dot the skyline as new structures rise beside salvaged plate metal. The ruins of Midgar loom on the horizon like a skeletal monument to the old world, casting long shadows over the new one.
