Location from Final Fantasy VII by Square Enix
A rural village known for its Banora White apple orchards (Dumbapples), hometown of Genesis Rhapsodos and Angeal Hewley. Destroyed by Shinra to cover up the Genesis and Angeal desertion.
Banora is central to Crisis Core's storyline as the hometown of both Genesis and Angeal, two of SOLDIER's three legendary First Class operatives alongside Sephiroth. The village's peaceful orchards belie the dark secrets of Project G — Hollander's experiments that created Genesis using Jenova cells, conducted in secret here. When Genesis deserted SOLDIER and began his rebellion, Shinra bombed Banora to destroy all evidence of the project, much as they would later cover up Nibelheim. Zack discovers the ruins during his investigation, finding Genesis's childhood home and evidence of his friendship with Angeal over shared Dumbapple harvests.
Rolling hillsides blanketed in white-blossomed apple orchards surrounding a small farming village. The distinctive Banora White trees — called Dumbapples for growing regardless of season — create canopies of white petals. Beneath the village, caves hide ancient Goddess Materia ruins.
