Character from Final Fantasy VII by Square Enix
A red-haired Turk with a devil-may-care attitude who hides ruthless professionalism behind cocky quips, equally comfortable cracking jokes and cracking skulls for Shinra.
Reno of the Turks is the man Shinra sends when they want something done with maximum efficiency and minimum paperwork. He's the one who set the charges on the Sector 7 pillar, bringing an entire plate section crashing down on the slums below and killing thousands — and he'd do it again if ordered, though he might lose a little sleep over it afterward. That tension defines Reno: he is genuinely dangerous, genuinely loyal to the Turks as an institution, and genuinely capable of compartmentalizing atrocities behind a wall of wisecracks and alcohol. He fights AVALANCHE repeatedly throughout their journey, always with his partner Rude at his side, and there's an almost sporting quality to their encounters — Reno treats Cloud as a worthy opponent rather than a target. When Shinra falls and the Turks scatter, Reno stays with Rufus, not because he's a true believer in corporate power but because the Turks are his family. In Advent Children, he and Rude serve as reluctant comic relief, but the edge is still there beneath the banter. Reno is the funny friend you don't want to see stop laughing.
Lean and wiry with unkempt bright red hair spiked backward, two symmetrical red tattoo marks beneath his eyes, and a perpetual smirk. Wears an unbuttoned, disheveled navy Turk suit with the shirt untucked and tie loosened — the dress code violation of someone who knows he's too good to fire. His weapon is an electro-mag rod that crackles with energy, which he twirls lazily between his fingers when bored. Goggles sit pushed up on his forehead. Everything about him screams casual menace.
