The Drunken Clam

Location from Family Guy by Seth MacFarlane / Fox

Quahog's principal bar — an animated neon clam sign on the roof, Pawtucket Patriot Ale on tap, and a thirty-year-long afternoon that Peter, Cleveland, Quagmire, and Joe have been having.

The Drunken Clam is where plans get made and things get said that can't be unsaid. It is the social hub of Peter's world in the way that the couch is the domestic hub — the external space where the group's actual dynamic plays out without spouses and children managing it. It was the Clam's Head Pub for one episode, after a hurricane convinced Horace to sell to a British buyer. The regulars were not happy. The British owner was arrested. Horace came back. After Horace's death, Jerome took over. The beer is the same. The neon sign is the same. The dynamic continues.

Appearance

A slightly shabby New England bar with a neon sign out front depicting a swaying, xx-eyed clam with a beer bottle. Inside: a bar counter, several booths, a TV that determines the evening's mood, and a specific quality of dim light that makes everything seem like it probably happened.

Also known as: The Clam, Clam's Head Pub (briefly)
