Neil Goldman

Character from Family Guy by Seth MacFarlane / Fox

James Woods High's resident nerd, with acne, thick glasses, and a years-long unrequited devotion to Meg Griffin that has outlasted her interest and most of his other character traits.

Neil Goldman has been in love with Meg since the show gave him a character arc to have. He is persistent, oblivious to signals, and has exploited opportunities with the opportunism of someone who has decided that any kiss — even one Meg allowed because she thought she was about to die — is evidence of mutual feeling. He is the editor of the school newspaper, The James Woods Bugle, which gives him structural access to everyone's business. Without his retainer, he has, improbably, a very deep and seductive voice. The show uses Neil as a mirror: his devotion to Meg is treated as a joke, which says something about how the show values Meg. He is not entirely without redeeming qualities. He is mostly a mechanism.

Appearance

Teenage boy with acne, thick glasses, and the slightly stooped posture of someone who has been told 'not right now' enough times to make it a default stance. Wears collared shirts in a way that suggests an adult dressed him, probably Mort.
