Character from Family Guy by Seth MacFarlane / Fox
A man-sized chicken who has been in an escalating physical feud with Peter Griffin for most of the show's run, triggered by an expired coupon and sustained by mutual commitment.
The feud began when Ernie gave Peter an expired coupon. This is the entire origin. Every subsequent battle is a direct continuation of that slight, which has produced fights that have destroyed buildings, caused public casualties, and lasted for entire commercial breaks. The show never resolves it. Peter wins each fight, leaves Ernie apparently dead, and returns to the scene. Ernie gets up. The episode moves on. The next time, it happens again. Ernie has a wife named Nicole. The show has briefly treated him as a person with a domestic life, which makes the escalation stranger and funnier.
A giant chicken in a suit — full-sized human height, bipedal, wearing clothes as though this is unremarkable. Built like someone who takes the fights as seriously as Peter does. His face has the resolute expression of a poultry-based combatant who is not done.
