Death

Character from Family Guy by Seth MacFarlane / Fox

The Grim Reaper of Quahog — a mama's boy with girl trouble, a taste for beer, and a recurring physical inconvenience problem that has occasionally suspended human mortality.

Death sprained his ankle chasing Peter Griffin once, and had to convalesce at 31 Spooner Street in a Providence College sweatsuit while Peter did his job. This is the show's thesis on death: even the Grim Reaper is subject to indignity in Quahog. He is a mama's boy. He struggles with women. He drinks at frat houses, using his eye socket as a bottle opener. He finds it hard to interact socially because during his teen years he had a habit of killing girls he was with, which created some issues. His presence in the show is used to establish mortality as negotiable — when Death is incapacitated, no one can die. Stewie is one of his fans.

Appearance

A robed skeletal figure carrying a scythe, whose bare skull is visible when the hood is back — sometimes bones, sometimes bones with bugs and a snake. Wears a Providence College sweatsuit when off-duty at the Griffins'. Moves with the unhurried pace of someone who knows you're not going anywhere.
