Bruce exists as Quahog's universal background character — whatever the scene needs, Bruce has done that job and is available. He has worked in roughly fifteen different professions over the show's run, each delivered with the same soft, slightly camp southern voice that Mike Henry developed. He lives on a corner of Spooner Street in a purple house with desert plants. He is there. He is always there. The show treats his omnipresence as unremarkable, which is the correct approach. He has a tendency to begin unhelpful announcements with a gentle 'oh no.' He is not going to help you, but he feels bad about it.
A plump middle-aged man with a permanently mild expression and the gentle body language of someone who does not want any conflict. Usually in civilian clothes appropriate to whatever his current role is, which changes episodically.
