Progressive Knife

An Evangelion-scale combat knife with a vibrating molecular blade — the weapon of last resort when the giant robot has to kill something up close and the pilot has to feel it.

The Progressive Knife is the Evangelion's primary close-combat weapon — a blade that vibrates at molecular frequencies, allowing it to cut through materials far harder than conventional weapons could manage. It is stored in the shoulder pylon for quick deployment. Shinji used a progressive knife to kill Shamshel by driving it directly into the Angel's core — his first deliberate kill. The knife represents the brutal intimacy of Eva combat: at this range, through the sync link, the pilot feels the resistance of flesh parting. Each Eva variant has its own knife design, with Unit-02's PK-2 being notably different from Unit-01's standard model.

Appearance

Eva-scale folding knife stored in the shoulder pylon. Unit-01's version is a standard combat knife shape. Unit-02's PK-2 resembles a box cutter. The blade vibrates at high frequency, causing a visible shimmer. When cutting through Angel flesh, the blade glows from heat and friction.
