The Fourth Angel — a cephalopod horror with glowing energy whips that forces Shinji to fight alone and make his first real kill.

Shamshel attacks Tokyo-3 three weeks after Sachiel, giving NERV barely enough time to catch their breath. It is more aggressive than its predecessor — where Sachiel went defensive after Unit-01 berserked, Shamshel presses the attack relentlessly, severing Unit-01's umbilical cable and flinging the Eva across a mountainside. Its energy whips are physical structures charged with power, strong enough to lift and throw an Evangelion. Shinji defeats it without backup by driving a progressive knife into its core — his first deliberate kill. The intact S2 Engine recovered from its corpse later becomes crucial to NERV's research.

Appearance

Roughly Eva-sized cephalopod shape. Mostly purple with pink undersections. Two false eye spots on head — black circles with yellow rings. Transforms between horizontal flight form and vertical combat mode. Two main arms with long glowing pink energy tentacles extending from them. Core visible on torso beneath head. Eight small insect-like legs under the head.
