Ramiel

Character from Neon Genesis Evangelion by Hideaki Anno / Gainax

The Fifth Angel — a perfect blue octahedron that hums a single note, fires a beam that can melt an Eva in seconds, and has an AT Field so strong it refracts visible light.

Ramiel is a floating fortress. Its directed energy beam activates through an internal torus fusion reactor and can hit any target in range with perfect accuracy, sustaining fire almost indefinitely. Its AT Field is one of the strongest encountered — requiring 180 million kilowatts to penetrate. It can detect threats from underground and beyond its normal firing radius. It is the first Angel to physically breach the GeoFront with a drilling appendage. Defeating it requires Operation Yashima — routing all of Japan's electrical grid through a positron sniper rifle fired by Unit-01 while Unit-00 shields it. Ramiel represents the point where NERV realizes these things cannot be fought conventionally.

Appearance

Gigantic floating crystalline regular octahedron — two pyramids fused at the base. Surface is blue and highly reflective. Produces a choral singing voice on a sustained F note as it moves. No biological features visible; drilling appendage extends from body when needed. Massive scale.
