Hyuga is the everyman of NERV's bridge crew — competent, reliable, and quietly horrified by things his colleagues have normalized. He operates the central command post alongside Aoba and Maya, monitoring combat data and coordinating Eva deployment logistics. He has an unrequited crush on Misato Katsuragi that he expresses through loyalty rather than action. When the JSSDF storms NERV in the finale, he fights back. He represents the decent people who work within a corrupt system because the alternative — no one competent defending humanity — is worse.
Short dark hair, glasses, average build. NERV bridge officer uniform. Reads manga during breaks. Unassuming presence that belies genuine technical skill. Often seen adjusting his glasses or looking uncomfortable when asked to do something morally questionable.
