The former Formic world where Ender became governor and found the last Hive Queen cocoon hidden in a tower from his Mind Game — the place where humanity's greatest crime met its chance at redemption.
Shakespeare Colony was a Formic world repurposed for human colonization after the Third Invasion. Ender became its governor — a child ruling a colony of adults because the IF had no better idea what to do with the boy who won the war. The Formics left something for him. A tower matching scenes from the Mind Game — a psychological evaluation tool Ender played at Battle School — contained the last Hive Queen's cocoon. The Formics had accessed the Mind Game through philotic connections, understood Ender's psyche, and built this structure specifically so he would find the Queen. They were asking for forgiveness. They were asking for another chance. Ender found the cocoon. He wrote 'The Hive Queen.' He carried her for 3,000 years. Shakespeare Colony is where xenocide became atonement.
A habitable planet prepared by the Formics for colonization. The landscape was terraformed for human use but retains alien characteristics. A tower matching scenes from Ender's Mind Game contains the Hive Queen's cocoon.
