Sellen represents the Carian tradition's shadow side — the sorcerers who looked past the moon toward the primeval current of the stars themselves. Her research was deemed heretical, and she was expelled from the Academy. She seeks to reclaim Raya Lucaria and restore primeval sorcery to its rightful place. The tragedy is that she succeeds: she overthrows Rennala's faction, takes the Academy, and is immediately transformed into a Graven Mass — a ball of fused sorcerer bodies. The stars she studied consumed her.
Wears the Graven-School Talisman mask — a stone face covering that hides her features. Beneath, she is a dark-haired woman with intense eyes and the bearing of someone who has spent decades in academic combat. In her final form, she becomes a massive sphere of compressed, screaming sorcerer faces — a Graven Mass.
