Dragonlord Placidusax

Character from Elden Ring by FromSoftware

A two-headed dragon who served as Elden Lord in an age before the Erdtree — now waiting in the ruins of Farum Azula, frozen in time, for a god who will never return.

Placidusax predates the Erdtree entirely. He was Elden Lord when a different god reigned — a god who fled or died, leaving Placidusax waiting in the eye of Farum Azula's frozen storm. He has been waiting since before human memory began. His boss fight feels less like combat than disturbing something that should have been left alone. He moves through time itself, teleporting and striking from impossible angles. He is not hostile so much as awakened — and in his addled, ancient state, he attacks anything that moves near him. He is the Lands Between's deepest past, dreaming of a future that will never come.

Appearance

A massive, ancient dragon with two heads (originally more — the stumps of severed necks are visible). Golden-grey scales, tattered wings, and an aura of lightning that crackles across a body that has been waiting motionless for aeons. The arena around him is frozen mid-storm, debris suspended in the air. He breathes golden lightning and can teleport through space-time.
