Character from Elden Ring by FromSoftware
Marika's hidden son — a red-haired warrior with serpent's fire sent to purge the Land of Shadow, whose atrocities were buried by history and whose loyalty to his mother survived even her betrayal.
Messmer is the DLC's central tragedy — a son who loved his mother, did terrible things at her command, and was then erased from history for his trouble. Marika sent him to the Land of Shadow to purge the hornsent people, and he did so with methodical, devastating efficiency, impaling thousands on stakes of fire. Then Marika sealed the Land of Shadow away and Messmer with it, burying the evidence of her genocide. His loyalty is the most painful thing about him. Even after being abandoned, even after learning what he was used for, he still calls her 'Mother.' His serpent fire — inherited from an Outer God's bloodline — marks him as something Marika wanted hidden. He is proof that the Golden Order's history is a curated lie.
Tall, lean warrior with vivid red hair and serpentine motifs woven through his armor. He wields a fire lance that burns with a distinctive crimson-gold flame. Serpents coil around his body and emerge during combat. His face carries Radagon's features but his eyes hold something older and more tormented. In his second phase, he gives himself to the serpent fully, his body becoming partially ophidian.
