Maliketh is the Shattering's most tormented figure after Morgott. He was Marika's shadow — created to serve and protect her, entrusted with sealing the Rune of Death within his Black Blade so that the demigods could never truly die. Then Ranni stole a fragment of that death and used it to kill Godwyn, and Maliketh's entire purpose shattered. He failed. The one thing he existed to prevent happened on his watch. He retreated to Crumbling Farum Azula — a city frozen in time above the clouds — and sealed himself away with the remaining Destined Death, becoming both its jailer and its prisoner. His boss fight is one of the game's most demanding: he is fast, relentless, and his blade inflicts a damage-over-time effect that reduces your maximum health. He fights like someone who has nothing left to lose.
In beast clergyman form: hunched, robed, fighting with bestial claws and stone-throwing incantations. When the Black Blade is drawn, he transforms — a massive, acrobatic beast-warrior in black armor, wielding a greatsword infused with the red-black energy of Destined Death. He flips and spins through the air with terrifying agility for his size, the blade trailing arcs of death-flame.
