A massive beast in Caelid who devours deathroot to contain the spread of death — actually Maliketh before his transformation, struggling against the corruption of the very death he was sworn to guard.
Gurranq is Maliketh's 'before' — the beast clergyman form of Marika's shadow, charged with containing Destined Death by consuming the deathroot that spreads from Godwyn's corpse. Each deathroot you bring him reduces the corruption but worsens his stability. He occasionally loses control and attacks, apologizing afterward. The tragedy is that he is fighting a war he cannot win — the deathroot will keep spreading, and his sanity will keep eroding, until the inevitable transformation into Maliketh.
An enormous, hunched bestial figure draped in tattered clerical robes. Dark fur, long claws, and eyes that shift between lucidity and feral hunger. He sits in the Bestial Sanctum surrounded by deathroot offerings, snarling and praying in alternation.
