The Frenzied Flame

Character from Elden Ring by FromSoftware

An Outer God of primordial chaos that speaks through Three Fingers deep beneath the capital — it wants to melt all life, all separation, all individuality into a single screaming unity.

The Frenzied Flame is the Elden Ring's nihilist option — an Outer God that predates the Greater Will and opposes not just the Golden Order but the concept of separation itself. It believes that existence was a mistake, that the original sin was the moment One became Many, and that the only mercy is to melt everything back into the primordial One. Its ending is the most disturbing in the game: the Tarnished becomes the Lord of Frenzied Flame, and the world burns — not to ash, but to unity. Every living thing dissolves into the same screaming light. The Frenzied Flame does not hate life. It considers individuality a form of suffering and its fire a form of compassion.

Appearance

The Frenzied Flame manifests through the Three Fingers — a massive, grasping hand emerging from beneath the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds, radiating yellow-orange flame that burns without heat. Those touched by the flame develop the yellow eyes of madness and the Flame of Frenzy — a fire that does not destroy but unmakes, dissolving the boundaries between beings. Shabriri's eyes, burned into the faces of its victims, glow with this same flame.
