The Devil's Machine is the final location in EarthBound — a massive device built to contain Giygas and stabilize what remains of his destroyed mind. It reflects all damage back at the attacker, making Giygas effectively invincible while it operates. The only way to proceed is to deplete Pokey's HP, which prompts him to shut the Machine off out of spite, unleashing Giygas's raw, uncontrolled power into a dimension of pure terror. The background becomes a famous cascade of red-and-black horror. Giygas's face dissolves. His dialogue fragments. And the only weapon left is prayer.
Interconnected pulsing flesh-like tubes converging on a central core. Ness's face appears on the machine when approached. The chamber pulses with organic wrongness. When deactivated, reality dissolves into swirling red-and-black horror.
