Lardna Minch is the mother of Pokey and Picky and wife of Aloysius. She is abusive, cruel, and responsible for the death of Buzz Buzz — the time-traveling insect prophet who was going to help Ness save the universe. Lardna swats him because she thinks he's a dung beetle. This kills him. The entire prophecy almost fails because of one woman's pest control instincts. She stays in Onett while her husband and oldest son descend into evil, and she has no idea where they went. She is never punished for killing Buzz Buzz. The universe just has to work around it.
