Jeff is the son of the great scientist Dr. Andonuts, though his father is so absorbed in his work that their relationship amounts to Jeff occasionally borrowing flying machines. He attends Snow Wood Boarding School in Winters, where his best friend and roommate Tony clearly adores him. When Paula calls him telepathically — a girl he has never met, asking for help from a continent away — Jeff climbs over the school fence without hesitation, crosses a frozen wilderness, rides a lake monster, navigates a dungeon, and crash-lands a prototype aircraft into a graveyard. On a school night. He is the only party member who cannot use PSI. Instead, he has an IQ stat that lets him repair broken items into powerful gadgets — the Heavy Bazooka, the Shield Killer, the Hungry HP-Sucker. His Spy ability lets him scan enemies and steal their items. He fights with guns and bottle rockets, making him the party's artillery. He is the most practically competent member of the Chosen Four, which is saying something when the other three are psychic.
