Character from EarthBound by Shigesato Itoi / Nintendo
The self-proclaimed 'fail-proof' leader of Onett's Sharks gang who gets beaten by a kid with a bat, renames himself 'Failure Frank,' and gets a job at a burger joint — the first boss and best redemption arc.
Frank Fly terrorized Onett with his gang, the Sharks, who took over the local arcade and scared half the town into moving to Twoson. Then Ness showed up and beat him in the arcade's backyard. Frank sent his robot, Frankystein Mark II, as backup. Ness broke that too. Frank accepted his defeat, called himself 'Failure Frank,' disbanded the Sharks, and got a job flipping burgers. When Ness visits him afterward, Frank heals the entire party for free. During the final battle, he prays for Ness's safety. At the end of the game, he's training for pro wrestling and wants to swap stories over mineral water — 'I'm still underage, you know.' He is the first sign that EarthBound's bosses are people, not obstacles.
Wears sunglasses. Carries a knife. Has the swagger of a small-town gang leader who has never been challenged and the confusion of one who just was.
