Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook

Item from Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman

A legendary secret guidebook created by the System AI — passed between chosen crawlers across twenty-five seasons, invisible to producers and audiences, dedicated to burning the system down.

The Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook is a unique heirloom item created by the System AI during the fifteenth season of Dungeon Crawler World. It passes to crawlers who meet specific hidden criteria, disguised each time in a new form tailored to its recipient. The public AI description presents it as a harmless recipe book, but crawlers with the Escape Plan skill see its true welcome message: an invitation to burn the system to the ground. Each holder adds a page to their scratchpad documenting discoveries, secret societies, explosive recipes, and survival knowledge for future owners. Twenty-four previous authors have contributed entries spanning topics from faction wars strategy to deity manipulation to NPC behavior patterns. Neither the audience nor show producers can see its contents, but the System AI is aware of it. The book does not break dungeon rules — but if anyone suspects it is more than it appears, the crawler loses access. It vanishes from inventory upon death or retirement. Carl is the twenty-fifth author, and his class — Compensated Anarchist — was shaped by the book's influence.

Appearance

A thick book approximately the size of a large dictionary with a nondescript cover bearing an anarchy symbol. Gold-leafed pages glint in the light. It appeared on a Prize Carousel on the fourth floor, its true nature hidden behind a harmless cover description about goblin recipes.
