Magnificent Troy

Character from Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman

An orc sports broadcaster in a suit and tie who announces boss fights while hammered — the dungeon's play-by-play man, committed to professional excellence even when he can barely stand.

Magnificent Troy is proof that even in an alien death dungeon, someone has to do the commentary. He's an orc sports announcer who covers boss fights, crawler matches, and special events with the dedication of a man who believes his job matters — and in a game show broadcast to billions, he's not wrong. He and his partner Kevin are 'adamant professionals' who powered through the Survival Royale event despite being 'pretty plastered,' which is either impressive or concerning depending on your standards for broadcast journalism. By book seven, he was 'apparently too drunk to summon' for a temple battle announcement, suggesting a career trajectory. He announced Carl and Katia's fight against the Octo-Shark with the enthusiasm of someone who genuinely loves his work. The System AI summons him personally for major boss battles, making him one of the few NPCs with a direct line to the dungeon's operating intelligence. He's the color commentary in a world painted in blood.

Appearance

An orc wearing a sportscoat and tie, which is the most incongruous outfit possible for his species and somehow perfect for his role. Maintains the groomed appearance of a broadcast professional despite being an orc in a dungeon. Often visibly intoxicated.
