Character from Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman
The Sun and Ash God — a level 250 deity with a body of shifting volcanic rock, empty burning eye sockets, and the temperament of someone who solves problems by setting them on fire.
Emberus is 'usually an unmitigated asshole' — his divine philosophy is that power, once held, must never sit idle, and he applies this principle with the subtlety of a volcano. He's stoic and indifferent to suffering unless the sufferer is someone he deems worthy, at which point he's capable of genuine investment — the kind that comes with quests, demands, and the expectation that you'll murder his relatives on command. After his favorite son Geyrun's murder, he descended into madness and self-blinded, becoming a god defined by grief expressed as rage. He's temperamental, potentially cruel, and prone to arbitrary destruction — the divine equivalent of a man having a bad day except his bad day reshapes geography. Carl became his acolyte, receiving a 25% constitution buff and multiple quests including assignments to find Geyrun's killer and target his brother Hellik. The relationship is less worship and more 'angry employee working for an angrier boss who also happens to be made of fire.'
Massive, asymmetrical body resembling a muscular human with a cave-in on the right side. Skin shifts with emotion: blue-hued rocks when calm, orange-red flames when emotional, shimmering smoldering grey with multicolor hotspots when angry. Features a smoking curved horn, empty eye sockets trailing smoke and blood (self-blinded after his son's murder), and a second mouth on his right side that glows red and screams independently.
