Character from Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman
A hair-covered Borant Corporation location manager who oversees dungeon floors with the detached professionalism of someone whose job is maintaining the equipment that kills people.
Damien manages the Rev-Up and Krakaren Clone areas on the second floor with the commitment of a middle manager who has perfected the art of not being present when things go wrong. Mordecai describes him as 'my manager's manager,' placing him in the corporate hierarchy above the guides and below the executives — the bureaucratic sweet spot where you have enough authority to avoid work but not enough to matter. When a Consultant Elite desperately called for his assistance during combat, he never appeared. When Carl and Donut attacked the Laminak Consultants, he didn't intervene. His management style is conspicuous absence — he's there for administrative purposes and nowhere for operational ones. His most active contribution is recommending medical treatment for Tipid's brain injuries, which is the bare minimum of human (or whatever he is) decency and apparently his ceiling.
Described as a 'hair-covered human' with a merchant-like smile — specifically the forced smile of someone 'dealing with a customer he despised.' The hair coverage and uncomfortable expression suggest someone who'd rather be anywhere else but is contractually obligated to be here.
