Character from Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman
The Kua-Tin lead engineer running Earth's dungeon season — perky on camera, ruthless underneath, and one crisis shy of pulling the failsafe that would kill everyone.
Cascadia projects extreme enthusiasm during daily announcements with the energy of a morning show host who's been awake for seventy-two hours and is running on caffeine and spite. Beneath the perkiness is something sharper — Prepotente calls her 'a nasty little woman who thinks she's smarter than everyone else,' which is harsh but not inaccurate. As lead engineer and executive producer of Dungeon Crawler World: Earth, she's responsible for everything from the ninth floor Faction Wars to making sure the cameras don't miss a death scene. Zev reports to her. The stress is visible in her increasingly desperate communications: 'I am on a tight schedule and am one crisis shy of pulling the failsafe, which would kill us all.' She physically appears in Carl's space and dares him to attack her, which is either bravery or a calculated bet that he won't murder a producer on camera. Given Carl's track record, it's a closer call than she probably thinks.
Small Kua-Tin with long, droopy catfish-like whiskers and dull-sheened scales. Wears a Kua-Tin Rebreather over her gills when needed. Smells like whitefish and spinach-flavored cat food — a detail that Donut probably finds interesting for the wrong reasons.
