Character from Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman
A Filipino tiger-man Swashbuckler who commands a thousand beanie babies in combat — deeply religious, family-driven, and the kind of guy who brews tea for his guildmates every morning.
Bautista is the rare dungeon crawler who became more himself rather than less. Deeply religious and family-oriented, he entered the dungeon with four siblings and fifteen cousins — all killed by Former Circus Lemurs, which is exactly the kind of sentence that makes sense in this world. Carl and Donut avenged his family, which earned a loyalty that runs deeper than game mechanics. He brews tea for guild members each morning with a domestic gentleness that contrasts sharply with his Swashbuckler combat style. Imani particularly appreciates this. His relationship with Katia is built on genuine support — he respects her decisions even when they terrify him, which is most of the time. His class gains combat bonuses when fighting alongside other Swashbucklers, and he commands approximately one thousand beanie babies as combat pets through the tame spell, which is simultaneously the most ridiculous and most effective army in the dungeon. He fights with the focused intensity of a man who has specific names on his revenge list.
Six feet of Tigran hybrid: the head of a human/big cat with orange, white, and black Siberian tiger markings, cat-like vertical-slit eyes, a human nose and mouth, tiger-striped fur across his body, and an exceptionally shaggy tail. Goes shirtless. Wields a curved sword. The overall effect is 'terrifying apex predator who also makes really good tea.'
