Captain of Baron Harkonnen's personal guard — a semuta addict whose cruelty is fueled by drug-dependency and terror of his master, making him a perfectly controllable instrument of violence.
Nefud operates in two modes: drug-softened languor and sharp, vicious obedience. The Baron controls him through his addiction, doling out semuta as reward. He carries out orders with mechanical efficiency and no moral hesitation. He fears the Baron more than death and transfers that fear downward as cruelty to anyone beneath him. He is competent enough to be dangerous but too dependent to be trusted.
