Planet Namek

Location from Dragon Ball by Akira Toriyama

The green-skied homeworld of the Namekian race — a peaceful planet of warriors and healers that became the battleground for the most consequential fight in the Frieza saga.

A quiet world of perhaps a few hundred inhabitants — the Namekian population never fully recovered from a cataclysmic climate disaster that nearly wiped them out. The peace is genuine; Namekians are communal, meditative, and survive on water alone. Frieza's invasion shattered this peace utterly — villages were massacred, the Dragon Balls were stolen, and the planet itself was ultimately destroyed by Frieza in his fight against Super Saiyan Goku. A new Planet Namek was wished into existence, but the original's destruction remains one of the series' most devastating events.

Appearance

Three suns illuminate a sky that's perpetually green-tinged, creating an alien twilight. Blue-green grass, turquoise water, and scattered Namekian villages — each a cluster of organic, rounded buildings that look grown rather than built. The terrain is mostly flat plains and plateaus with occasional cliff formations. The horizon feels vast and empty.
