A towering, jovial mountain lord — Master Roshi's former pupil who guards Fire Mountain and dotes endlessly on his daughter Chi-Chi and grandson Gohan.
Boisterous and warm — a giant teddy bear who happens to have been a feared warrior. Spoils his grandchildren relentlessly. Was once terrifying enough to guard Fire Mountain against all comers, but domesticated himself for Chi-Chi's sake. Defers to Chi-Chi on household matters despite being ten times her size. His loyalty to Roshi's training lineage is absolute.
Massive — easily the tallest and broadest human in the cast. Bushy black beard, horned Viking-style helmet, heavy armor over his enormous frame. Despite his fearsome size, his face is usually in a warm grin. In later appearances, dresses in more casual but still oversized clothing.
