Item from Demon Slayer by Koyoharu Gotouge
The original Breathing Style — created by Yoriichi Tsugikuni, parent of all thirteen derivative forms, preserved for four hundred years as a family fire dance, and the only technique Muzan truly fears.
Sun Breathing is the source from which all other Breathing Styles derive. Yoriichi created it instinctively — for him, channeling solar energy through sword techniques was as natural as actual breathing. When he tried to teach it to others, he discovered that no other human body could perform it at his level. So he helped each student develop a derivative that matched their body: Water, Flame, Wind, Stone, Thunder. These five core styles then branched further into Love, Mist, Serpent, Sound, Insect, Flower, and Beast. The Kamado family preserved Sun Breathing as Hinokami Kagura — a ritual fire dance performed at New Year's Eve from sunset to sunrise without pause. They didn't know they were practicing the deadliest sword art in history. When Tanjiro recognized the dance as a combat technique, it was the first time Sun Breathing had been used in battle in four hundred years. Its thirteen forms, performed as a continuous loop, represent the pinnacle of human anti-demon capability.
When performed, Sun Breathing manifests as blazing golden-orange flames that trail the sword's arc — not literal fire but the visualization of concentrated solar energy channeled through Breathing technique. The flames are warmer and more golden than Flame Breathing's red-orange. At its peak, performed as a continuous dance, the forms flow into each other without pause, creating an unbroken ring of solar fire. Yoriichi's execution was described as watching the sun itself move.
