Item from Demon Slayer by Koyoharu Gotouge
The Demon Slayer Corps' communication network — talking crows assigned to every slayer that deliver mission orders, relay intelligence, and occasionally offer unsolicited commentary.
Kasugai crows are the Demon Slayer Corps' primary communication infrastructure. In an era before reliable telecommunications, the Corps operates a network of trained, semi-intelligent speaking crows that carry mission assignments, relay intelligence between slayers, and report back to headquarters. Each demon slayer receives a crow upon passing Final Selection. The crows have genuine personalities — they can be imperious, nervous, sarcastic, or overly dramatic. They're intelligent enough to navigate independently, deliver nuanced messages, and make judgment calls about when to report information. They serve as an early warning system, a dispatch network, and occasionally as moral support (or criticism) for their assigned slayer.
Large black crows with intelligent, watchful eyes. Each crow is individually distinct — some are larger, some more vocal, some have distinctive markings. They're bigger than normal crows and can speak in human language (though their delivery is curt and crow-like). Zenitsu's assigned bird is notably a sparrow rather than a crow, to his embarrassment.
