A young swordsmith's apprentice who guards a 300-year-old mechanical training doll and helped Tanjiro unlock a hidden blade inside it.

Kotetsu is fiercely protective of his family's legacy — a Sengoku-era mechanical training doll named Yoriichi Type Zero, built to replicate a swordsman's movements. When the doll's key was lost, Kotetsu nearly gave up. Tanjiro's encouragement reignited his determination, and together they discovered a 300-year-old Nichirin blade hidden inside the doll — a relic from the age of Sun Breathing practitioners. Kotetsu's stubbornness in preserving his inheritance directly contributed to Tanjiro obtaining his final weapon.

Appearance

Very young — a small boy wearing an oversized hyottoko mask traditional to the Swordsmith Village. Wears craftsman's clothes too large for him. Determined posture despite his tiny stature.
