Pluto in Death's End becomes the ceremonial graveyard of human meaning. As the Bunker Era closes and the lightspeed ban begins to crack, AA and Luo Ji ferry humanity's most important art, books, and recordings out to the museum on the dwarf planet, on the bet that a flattened object on Pluto might still preserve readable detail when nothing else does. Luo Ji curates the collection until the foil arrives; he dies at his desk with the cargo manifest still updating.
A small icy body, its largest moon Charon swinging close. On its surface, a single low-built museum complex carved partly into a mountain: vaults, climate-controlled galleries, archives sunk into the rock. Outside, eternal twilight; the Sun is the brightest star in the sky and nothing more.
