Blue Space is humanity's longest-living starship and its second culture. After the Battle of Darkness and the merger with Gravity, Chu Yan's crew rebuild themselves into a society that thinks in light-decades and speaks both Mandarin and English by default. They invent and document new physics — death lines, pocket-universe theory, the 4D-space encounter with The Ring — and carry it back to Earth in the brief window before the dual-vector foil. By the Galaxy Era they are the founders of new colonies; the Blue Space herself ends her career in a museum on World IV.
A long ribbed cylinder one and a half kilometers in length, painted slate-gray, with the Asian Fleet's chrysanthemum stripped off its hull. Fusion drives at the stern, a cyclical broadcast antenna built into the midsection (after the Gravity merger). Interior is utilitarian: long curved corridors, cramped officers' wardrooms, a central spinal lift. Twelve hundred crew. The constant low-gravity acceleration of a permanent burn.
