The Teito Hotel serves as the meeting point between Light and Takada during the second arc. Their conversations here are multilayered performances: Light passes secret written messages to Takada while speaking innocuous words for the surveillance cameras. The Task Force watches. Near's SPK watches. Everyone is watching everyone, and the hotel suite becomes a stage where nothing said aloud is true and everything written in silence is lethal.
