Sakura TV

Location from Death Note by Tsugumi Ohba

Tokyo's most sensationalist television station — the network that broadcast Kira's tapes to the world and turned a serial killer into a media phenomenon.

Sakura TV is the tabloid of the Death Note world. Where legitimate news outlets report on Kira with caution, Sakura TV leans in — broadcasting the Second Kira's video tapes, hosting Kira worship segments, and eventually making Demegawa the unofficial voice of Kira's movement. The station is where the investigation pivots multiple times: the tapes that prove a Second Kira exists, Ukita's death that proves the Second Kira has Shinigami Eyes, and the public broadcasts that turn Kira from a criminal into a cultural force. The air inside smells like makeup and desperation and ratings.

Appearance

A modern television studio building in Tokyo. Inside: broadcast studios with bright lights and multiple camera setups, a newsroom, editing bays. The exterior is where Ukita died running up the steps — a public space turned killing ground. Sakura TV looks like every other TV station, which is the point: Kira's message went out through perfectly normal infrastructure.
