Light's watch is the ultimate expression of his paranoia and preparedness. Inside a gift from the father he's betraying, he hides the means to kill anyone in an emergency. The scrap of Death Note paper is small enough that he can write a name on it with the needle — no pen needed, just his own blood. It's his last resort, hidden in the most personal item he carries. At Yellow Box Warehouse, when the forged Death Note fails and Light is exposed, he tries to use the watch's hidden scrap. Matsuda shoots him before he can finish writing.

Appearance

An elegant wristwatch — a gift from Soichiro Yagami. Looks completely ordinary from the outside. Inside: a hidden compartment containing a tiny scrap of Death Note paper and a needle sharp enough to draw blood for writing. The mechanism is spring-loaded and opens with a specific manipulation of the crown.
