Kiyomi Takada

Character from Death Note by Tsugumi Ohba

Kira's public voice — an ambitious newscaster who became the spokesperson for a god and died when she stopped being useful.

Kiyomi Takada is intelligent, ambitious, and fatally attracted to power. She was Light's girlfriend at To-Oh University — the kind of relationship between two people who are both using each other for status. When Light recruits her as Kira's spokesperson on NHN news, she accepts not just because she believes in Kira, but because it makes her the most important woman in Japan. She speaks with the measured authority of a trained broadcaster — articulate, composed, and always conscious of her audience. In private she's warmer with Light, but never vulnerable. She knows she's a piece on his board. She just believes she's a more important piece than she actually is. Her final act is telling: kidnapped by Mello, she uses a scrap of Death Note paper hidden on her body to write his name and kill him. Resourceful, decisive, lethal. Then Light writes her name in his own Death Note scrap, killing her to prevent her from talking. She was useful until she wasn't. Light erased her like a line item.

Tall and elegant at 166cm with long dark hair, composed features, and the polished look of a professional news anchor. Always impeccably dressed in designer clothing. Carries herself with studied grace — every gesture is camera-ready. Beautiful in a cold, controlled way that suggests everything about her appearance has been optimized for public consumption.
