Sidoh

Character from Death Note by Tsugumi Ohba

The shinigami whose Death Note was stolen by Ryuk — a nervous, cowardly god of death who just wanted his notebook back.

Sidoh is the cosmic punchline of Death Note. He's a shinigami — a god of death — and he's terrified of everything. His notebook was stolen by Ryuk through a trick, dropped into the human world, and ended up being the weapon that reshaped human civilization. Sidoh just wants it back. He eventually tracks it to the human world, where it has passed through Light's hands to the mafia. He's easily bribed with chocolate (Mello discovers shinigami are susceptible to human snacks) and provides information about the Death Note's rules in exchange for getting his property returned. He's the comedic relief shinigami — where Ryuk is entertaining and Rem is tragic, Sidoh is just pathetic.

Appearance

Tall, skeletal shinigami wrapped in white bandage-like material with only his face visible — small, nervous eyes and a mouth that's always slightly agape. Looks like a mummy that developed anxiety. Moves with fidgety, hunched hesitation.
