Ide initially left the Task Force because he didn't trust L's methods — particularly L's willingness to suspect his own team members. He returned in the second half of the investigation, bringing a fresh perspective uncontaminated by years of L's influence. He's skeptical, cautious, and not easily impressed. His romantic luck is officially rated 1/10, which the series never elaborates on but the guidebook felt was important enough to note.
