Fleet International is humanity's first genuinely planetary military organization. It supersedes individual national space forces and reports to the Solar Fleet Joint Conference, which itself reports to the Planetary Defense Council. By the time of the Doomsday Battle it commands the largest combined force ever assembled by the species. By the time the battle ends, almost all of it is wreckage.
An organization more than an artifact, but visible through its hardware: the standardized Stellar-class hull, the joint command anchorages between Mars and Jupiter, the Solar Fleet Joint Conference dais where the captains sit in concentric arcs around the screens.
