ETO operative codenamed 'Von Neumann' inside the Three Body game — assigned by the Trisolarans to dismantle Frederick Tyler's mosquito-swarm scheme.
The First Wallbreaker treats his role as a chess problem. He pulls Tyler's plan apart in front of the General Assembly with the polite cruelty of a tenured professor at a thesis defense. He never raises his voice. Once Tyler is dead he disappears — back into the ETO substructures, or into a hibernation pod, no one is told which.
A nondescript man in middle age, dressed in plain modern business attire. Inside the Three Body simulation he wears a powdered wig and frock coat, presenting as an avatar of John von Neumann. His real face is never officially logged.
