Location from Curse of Strahd by Tracy & Laura Hickman, Chris Perkins / Wizards of the Coast
A windswept hill where druids corrupted by Strahd perform dark rituals around a massive tree blight, worshipping the vampire lord as a nature deity.
Yester Hill rises above the western forests of Barovia, a barren, windswept prominence crowned by a ring of ancient standing stones. The druids who gather here were once servants of nature — now they are servants of Strahd, corrupted over generations until they worship the vampire as a god of the land itself. At the hill's summit, they tend the Gulthias Tree — an enormous, blighted tree grown from the stake that once pierced a vampire's heart. The tree radiates corruption, spawning twig blights and needle blights that infest the surrounding forest. The druids are attempting to create a new tree blight using one of the enchanted gems stolen from the Wizard of Wines winery. From the top of Yester Hill, on clear days, you can see a vision of a different world — a sunlit valley with a beautiful castle, a glimpse of what Barovia might have been before Strahd's curse. The vision is a cruel reminder of everything the land has lost.
