Tsolenka Pass is the only route through the mountains to the Amber Temple, and it makes travelers earn every step. The pass is brutally cold, exposed to howling winds, and guarded by a stone gatehouse manned by nothing living. A stone bridge spans a chasm so deep that looking down induces vertigo. The pass is haunted by the spirits of those who have tried to reach the temple and failed. The cold alone is lethal to unprepared travelers. This is Barovia's final gauntlet — the barrier between the known horrors of the valley and the ancient, cosmic horror of the Amber Temple.
