The Tser Pool encampment sits in a clearing beside the dark waters of Tser Pool, at the base of the thundering Tser Falls. Colorful Vistani wagons are arranged in a loose circle around a central campfire. Music plays — not joyful music, but the haunting melodies the Vistani carry with them, songs of roads that have no end. Madam Eva's tent dominates the camp — larger than the others, draped in fabrics that shimmer with symbols. Inside, she waits with her Tarokka deck, ready to read the fortunes of any who enter. The reading she performs is the pivotal moment of the early adventure — it determines where the Sunsword, Holy Symbol of Ravenkind, and Tome of Strahd can be found, and it identifies a potential ally against the vampire lord. The Vistani here are welcoming in their way — they offer wine, food, and stories. But they also serve Strahd, and not all of their hospitality is innocent.
