A mountain near Lake Zarovich where Van Richten's Tower stands — remote and difficult to reach, which is exactly the point.
Mount Baratok rises north of Vallaki, a forested mountain overlooking Lake Baratok. Van Richten's Tower perches on its slopes, chosen specifically for its isolation. The mountain is densely wooded, difficult to navigate, and far enough from any settlement that visitors are rare. The approach to the tower winds through terrain that would deter casual exploration. This is by design — Van Richten chose a location that would be easy to defend and hard to find.
