The coffin maker's shop is a narrow building in Vallaki that smells of wood shavings and varnish. Henrik van der Voort works downstairs, crafting coffins with the mechanical precision of a man trying very hard not to think about what's upstairs. Upstairs, in wooden crates that Henrik nailed shut with shaking hands, vampire spawn wait in torpor. They were placed here by Strahd's agents after Henrik stole the bones of St. Andral. When the time comes, they will burst from their crates and attack St. Andral's Church — which, without its protective bones, will have no defense against them.
